Goat Cheese Appetizer with Apple and Jerky
By Manuel Villegas
Ingredients:
  • Generous 3 ounces of goat cream cheese
  • 1 apple
  • 1 large slice of thinly sliced beef jerky
  • About 1 1/2 ounces cream
  • 1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
  • About 1 tablespoon butter
  • Salt and pepper
Preparation:
Start by peeling and chopping the apple in small squares. Put a pan on the stove with the butter and melt it; sauté the apple for 8 to 10 minutes until it’s soft. Mince the beef jerky. Crumble the goat cheese. Heat the cream in the microwave or in a saucepan until it boils; toss it over the cheese and combine it with a fork until a creamy mixture forms. Add salt and pepper. Add a spoonful of olive oil and integrate everything well. Fill the base of glasses with the cream cheese. Put a layer of apple, then a layer of jerky, followed by another layer of cheese, and decorate it with more apple and jerky. Refrigerate until serving time. Adjust amounts for number of people.
